Taipei’s rainy and humid weather makes a common sight of pails in assorted colors, sizes and shapes inside the fine art museum, as they are brought out during rainy season to greet leaks in this 30-year-old building. Its most important functions being the collection and exhibition of art, the art museum itself becomes the most immediate and volatile crisis for the artworks housed within. Water City – TFAM is a humorous and sarcastic response to this plight, transforming itself into a solution for the museum’s leaky crisis.
